Well

deep well, heavy darkness, reaching up,
light lost, pouring down, deeper still.

a small bucket, an old rope,
turn of a wrist with expectation,
rewarded or not, disappointment rings deep.

tired despair, hope drowned, sinking deeper,
light lost, pouring down, deeper still.

well water, river less life source,
hope springs up anew, hard work
bringing forth sweet benefit, full bucket.

Pop over and say hello to Melissa at Making Things Up who so graciously hosts Six Word Fridays. Which for most people occurs on Friday, except some of us who live on a slightly skewed time schedule. (Hey, I`m here at least. Happy Saturday!)

I really like how you phrased the expectation here. Just because you get what you seek doesn't mean fulfillment. Interesting.

*g* Mine was Sunday last week, and barely squeaked in before midnight. Some things are worth waiting for ;)

I need a well for wishing.

Disappointments, hopes... your well runs deep.
