Beyond our ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase 'eachother'
doesn't make sense anymore.
-Jelaluddin Rumi in Coleman Barks The Essential Rumi (Harper San Francisco 1995)
Hope that we can put aside our differences and forgive. Not to forget, though forgetting may be blissful but just to put them aside. Hope that relationships can be healed between mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, husbands and wives, sisters and brothers, ands between friends. Hope that we no longer see an enemy. Hope that we can recognize our individual strengths. Hope that we can help eachother through our weaknesses. Hope that we can see eachother as equals. Hope that we can love in spite of our differences. Hope that we can learn to embrace our differences. Hope that we can hold out our arms in love and make the world a safe place. For eachother and for our children.
